$140 A Barrel Of Oil - Now That’s A Positive!

Right on schedule! Time to wake up. Oil hit $140 US a barrel today. Food prices hitting all time highs and going higher with the price of gas. Hot topics. Attacking the basics. Food has always been a basic. Gas seems to have become a basic. No, I am not going to talk world economics. This site is about how we are creating a new earth. New human behavior. Experiencing a spiritual awakening. The great shift for humanity to the next level of consciousness. What are these massive price increases doing? They are forcing us to examine our priorities. Changing. Evolving. Right on schedule.
I am constantly looking for signs that we are changing. World events such as these topics when examined from my perspective have a deeper purpose. The two basic elements for us to evolve are self-examination and change. Money plays such a huge role in our behavior so with the price of the basics increasing we are examining how we live and what’s important. It doesn’t matter how we bring about the shift, it only matters that we are.
These events are just a piece of the puzzle on our journey to unity consciousness. The return to a simplified life where we are not madly chasing after everything and wanting products that come from thousands of miles away. The whole system of economics, food distribution and energy sources may be at a point where everything changes. We may be forced to change. We have had it pretty good in North America compared to many parts of the world where $6 or $7 gas has been a reality for a while.
We have taken for granted that we can get whatever we want, wherever it is. Jumping in our fossil fueled vehicles and using our hard worked for money to buy stuff. The cycle of working more, to have more money, to buy more things. Stuff that we think will make our lives better or easier or happier. The price of gas and the cost of food are forcing us to examine our lives. This examination is the beginning of a chain reaction to lead us to the ultimate realization that we really “need” very little to enjoy a happy fulfilling human experience. That’s a positive. That’s enlightenment.
Using fossil fuels for energy is the old way. The cost to get the oil along with the affect on the atmosphere from burning it is has been well publicized. There has to be another way. I always look to nature for solutions to any need we may have. Mother earth has it. We just need to trust that it will be provided. There is so much energy in nature that the answers are there for us. Using nature’s sources like the sun, the ocean tides, the wind and the most abundant element in the universe - hydrogen, and if we directed a fraction of the resources that we direct to oil recovery we could and will have all the energy we could ever need. The price and the damaging effects of using oil will also work to speed up the conversion natural re-occurring energy sources. Our planet will become energy enlightened. And that’s a positive.
These changes are all positive. They are pointing us into a path of mass change in human behavior. The change that I have repeatedly discussed on this site. I know. You’re saying this guy’s a wacky, new age, rose colored glassed, flower child that has no grip on reality. He thinks the price of gas at $5 a gallon is positive.
Yep, I do.
Let’s see. If the Mayans were right, and they were enlightened beings, 2012 and it’s 2008. Yes, it’s time to really shake things up. Time to wake up from our 6000 year sleep. If there is such a thing as a schedule, We’re right on it.

Alltop was started by Guy Kawasaki, Will Mayall and Kathryn Henkins. Their newly formed company called Nononina also operates a fairly new service called Truemors. Both of these sights seem to have a similar philosophy about information. They seem to be committed to spreading information in an open democratic way or as I would call it a personally empowering way, meaning that we have the power to decide what information we choose and discern if it is valid for us. That resonates with my belief that we are evolving from a follow the leader paradigm to one of following our selves.
The Internet has now become the main tool for spreading and receiving information. The beauty of it is that it comes in so many flavors that one group or government agency cannot control it the way that information or propaganda has been given to the masses in the past. Mixing the ability to hear global perspective rather than just from one localized source, that may or may not have agendas, is the future of communications.
That got me thinking about information in general. What do we believe to be truth. This Truemor post that I was pointed to by Guy Kawasaki on Twitter titled Is the Internet A Source of Information or Misinformation, linked to a couple different news stories about educators complaining about misinformation on Wikipedia and the net in general. I then extended that to not only the Internet but all other forms of media like TV, newspapers, governments, or even face to face communication. The old cliche of “don’t believe everything you read or hear” is good advice that applies to every form of information dissemination.
We are by nature generally trusting beings that would like to believe that what we are hearing is truth. It has been proven many times over that we cannot always rely on receiving truth.
One of the attributes of new human behavior I describe is the ability to discern. Discernment is taking what feels valid for you and leaving the rest without judgment or without the feeling the need to correct or defend one’s beliefs. That is empowerment. We have the power to choose. There is no need to follow blindly just because some person in “authority” tells us that it is truth. Giving our power away to the “experts” is part of the old energy. Following without question is how humans have behaved in the past. Not now. The Internet is a great tool for us to learn how to empower our selves. Using our intuitive powers for what feels right for us along with the coinciding attribute of taking personal responsibility for our lives are both descriptions of a human in the new energy.
Alltop is a good example of a source that just throws it all on the table and gives the reader the power to decide what resonates with them. There is no stopping the information flow on the net. No one can control it. Not a company or a government. It’s long past the time where any one entity can censor the Internet. The concept of copyright and protection of information are aspects of duality consciousness. Wherein we are separate and feel that is this information is mine and I own it. Information should be freely distributed. With that freedom comes our responsibility to decide for our selves what is truth and not continue passing the blame for our situations onto any source.
So, thanks Alltop. I am proud to be a part of your community. To be part of a philosophy of the democratic flow of information. I will take my responsibility to heart. The message that I spread through this site is given freely and from my heart with the intention of helping anyone who chooses to listen. This is not a news site. This is merely my perspective of the shift to a new consciousness for us. If it is valid for you great, if not, so be it.
